Call recording

Every call is recorded, and every caller is told.

This page says who is recorded, why we keep it, how long we keep it, and how to have a recording deleted. It applies to the demo line and to a client's line.

The disclosure comes first

Alexis says the call is recorded before anything else, on every call, on both kinds of line. The notice sits on the recording itself, so the recording and the disclosure cannot come apart later.

A caller who does not want to be recorded can hang up at that point. On a client's line he can also ask the shop to reach him directly, and the shop can.

Ohio consent, and why we disclose anyway

Ohio is a one-party-consent state, so a party to a call may lawfully record it. We disclose on every call regardless, because a homeowner should know before he describes a gas smell in his basement.

Calls cross state lines and some states expect all parties to be told. Disclosing every time is the plain answer, and it costs a caller five seconds.

Why we record at all

Three reasons, all of them operational. The call summary and the booking in your call log come from the call, not from a form. A person listens to real calls each week and retunes Alexis.

And a disputed booking or a disputed charge is settled by listening to what was said, which is fairer to the caller, to your tech, and to you.

A client's line: 60 days

The recording and the transcript for calls to a client's line are deleted after 60 days. Every call detail screen carries that retention notice, so nobody has to remember it.

The written summary and what was booked stay readable in your call log while coverage continues. When coverage ends you get an export and a stated deletion date.

The demo line: 30 days

The demo line is a public marketing line, not a client deployment, and no client's calls reach it. Anyone can dial it and invent the worst call of his week.

A caller gives us his caller ID and nothing else. We use it to rate-limit the line and to show him his own call at a link tied to his number for 30 days.

After 30 days the transcript, the recording and the number are deleted. If he dials again inside the window, that page shows both calls.

What we never do with a recording

We do not sell recordings, publish them, or build advertising lists from callers. No real caller's voice or name appears on this site.

The call replay on the home page is a scripted example we wrote, labeled as one. Recordings reach only the processors named on the privacy page.

Asking for a copy, or a deletion

Reply to any email from us, or write to hello@ringready.ai. A client can ask for a call-log export or for early deletion of recordings. We state the date it is done.

A demo-line caller can ask us to delete his call before the 30 days end. Tell us the number he dialed from and roughly when he called.

Recording is part of the service described in our terms. Ending coverage stops it the same day.
